Coaching Terms & Conditions
1. Introduction
These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) govern the provision of running‑coaching services delivered by Steve Daniels t/a Steve Daniels Coaching (“the Coach”) to individual athletes and groups (“the Client”).
By engaging in coaching, attending sessions, or using any provided digital platforms, the Client agrees to comply with these Terms.
The Coach operates in alignment with:
- England Athletics’ Coach Licence Scheme, Code of Conduct, policies, and safeguarding requirements
- Responsibilities and standards expected of a qualified Coach in Running Fitness (CiRF)
- RunTogether Leader and User Terms & Conditions where applicable (for group sessions using the platform)
2. Coach Qualifications & Responsibilities
The Coach confirms they:
- Hold a valid Coach in Running Fitness (CiRF) licence issued by England Athletics, including completing required safeguarding and DBS checks.
- Agree to uphold the professional standards, ethical obligations, and Codes of Conduct required by England Athletics and UK Athletics.
- Are responsible for creating a safe, inclusive, athlete‑centred environment that prioritises safety, welfare, sportsmanship, and athlete development.
- Will update and maintain their coaching licence and continuing professional development as required by EA/UKA.
3. Client Responsibilities
Clients agree to:
- Provide accurate personal information including relevant medical conditions, injuries, disabilities, or risk factors, in line with RunTogether’s user data expectations.
- Act responsibly and follow all safety instructions during coaching sessions.
- Wear appropriate clothing, footwear, and lighting/visibility gear where necessary (e.g., running in the dark guidance).
- Arrive on time and notify the Coach promptly of any changes to health or ability.
- Respect other participants, the Coach, and the wider community.
4. Health, Safety & Medical Disclaimer
- Running and fitness training involve inherent physical risks. The Coach will take all reasonable steps to ensure safety but cannot eliminate risk entirely.
- Clients participate voluntarily and accept responsibility for their own health and wellbeing during sessions.
- Clients must not attend sessions if unwell, injured, or advised by a medical professional not to participate.
- Any emergency requiring cessation of activity should be reported immediately to the Coach.
5. Insurance
- The Coach is covered under the England Athletics public liability insurance applicable to licensed coaches and Run Leaders.
- This insurance covers coaching activities delivered in accordance with EA and UKA rules, policies, and safeguarding standards.
- The Coach is not responsible for loss of personal property during sessions.
6. Use of RunTogether, FinalSurge or other apps (If Applicable)
For any sessions delivered via RunTogether:
- Clients may be required to register on Third party apps such as FinalSurge or RunTogethe. Registered Users, agreeing to the platform’s Terms & Conditions, website policies, and privacy notices.
7. Data Protection & Privacy
- Client data (including health information) is handled confidentially and used solely for session safety, planning, and communication.
- Where RunTogether is used, their privacy policy governs digital data collected through the platform.
- No personal data is shared with third parties unless required by safeguarding law or with the Client’s explicit consent.
8. Session Structure & Delivery
- The Coach will design training sessions that consider athlete goals, ability, safety and CiRF coaching principles (e.g., inclusive coaching, technical development, athlete‑centred delivery).
- Sessions may include road, trail, multi‑terrain, interval training, technique work, and guided runs.
- The Coach may adjust sessions based on weather, group dynamics, or safety requirements.
9. Fees, Payments & Cancellations
- Fees for coaching services will be communicated clearly prior to booking.
- Sessions cancelled by the Coach will be refunded or rescheduled.
- Clients cancelling within 24 hours may be charged the full fee unless agreed otherwise.
- Block bookings must be used within the stated timeframe.
10. Behaviour, Safeguarding & Conduct
Both Coach and Client agree to adopt behaviours aligned with England Athletics’ safeguarding policies and Codes of Conduct.
This includes:
- Zero tolerance of harassment, bullying, discrimination, or abusive behaviour.
- Respect for juniors, vulnerable adults, and adherence to safeguarding guidelines.
- Adhering to RunTogether’s inclusive, friendly community principles where applicable.
The Coach reserves the right to remove any participant whose behaviour compromises safety or violates safeguarding standards, without refund.
11. Limitation of Liability
- The Coach is not liable for injuries resulting from failure to follow instructions, undisclosed medical conditions, or unsafe behaviour by the Client.
- The Coach’s liability is limited to the scope of EA/UKA‑approved coaching activities and applicable insurance cover.
12. Changes to Terms
- The Coach may update these Terms periodically to reflect changes in England Athletics policies, RunTogether requirements, or business needs.
- Material changes will be communicated to Clients.
13. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England & Wales.
